How to Stack Peptides With Supplements: What Works and What Interferes

Learn which supplements enhance peptide protocols, which create conflicts, and how to time them safely.

# How to Stack Peptides With Supplements: What Works and What Interferes Most people on peptide protocols also take supplements. The question isn't whether to combine them—it's how to do it intelligently. Some supplements amplify peptide effects; others interfere or create unforeseen interactions.

The Timing Rule: 2-Hour Minimum Separation

The simplest rule: inject peptides, wait 2 hours, then take oral supplements. Most peptides require 30-60 minutes for peak absorption. Oral supplements take 30-45 minutes for systemic absorption. Separating them by 2 hours prevents competition for absorption pathways and GI transit time.

Example schedule:

7am: CJC-1295/GHRP-6 injection
9am: Breakfast with multivitamin, omega-3
12pm: Vitamin D + fat meal
7pm: BPC-157 injection
9pm: Magnesium + sleep support

Supplements That Enhance Peptide Protocols

Vitamin D (2000-4000 IU daily): Synergizes with GH-releasing peptides by improving insulin sensitivity and growth hormone receptor expression. Oral BPC-157 works better in vitamin D-replete individuals (serum 25-OH vitamin D above 40 ng/mL). No timing restriction—take anytime.

Creatine monohydrate (3-5g daily): Works alongside GH peptides by enhancing muscle protein synthesis and reducing myostatin expression. Take with meals 2+ hours from peptide injections. No major interactions.

Zinc (15-30mg daily, not exceeding 50mg): Critical for immune peptides and thymosin alpha 1 function. Zinc levels drop during growth hormone elevation—supplementation maintains optimal immune response. Take with meals, separate from GLP-1 peptides by 2+ hours (GLP-1 slows gastric emptying, which changes zinc absorption timing).

Magnesium glycinate (200-400mg evening): Enhances recovery when stacking with growth hormone peptides. Taken at night, 4+ hours from injections. No conflicts.

Fish oil / Omega-3 (1-2g EPA+DHA daily): Synergizes with inflammatory recovery peptides (BPC-157, TB-500). Enhances cellular membrane fluidity, improving peptide receptor function. Take with meals, 2+ hours from injections.

Supplements That Create Conflicts

GHK-Cu + Zinc: This is critical. GHK-Cu (copper peptide) and zinc compete for absorption. Taking both simultaneously reduces zinc absorption by 40-50%. If you're running GHK-Cu, either:

Lower zinc to 10mg daily (suboptimal)
Skip zinc on days you use GHK-Cu
Take GHK-Cu nasal/injectable (avoid oral) and dose zinc 4+ hours apart

High-dose vitamin C (above 2000mg) + oral peptides: Megadose vitamin C increases stomach acid and GI transit speed, potentially degrading oral peptides before absorption. If you use high-dose vitamin C, take it 3+ hours away from oral peptide doses. (IV vitamin C has no conflict.)

Iron supplements + any peptide: Iron is highly reactive and can bind some peptides in the GI tract, reducing absorption of both. Separate by 4+ hours minimum. This matters most for oral peptides.

Charcoal and GI binders + peptides: Activated charcoal, clay binders, and psyllium husk bind peptides in the stomach. Never take them within 6 hours of oral peptides. Not an issue with injections.

NSAIDs (ibuprofen) + GLP-1 peptides: NSAIDs slow GI healing, which conflicts with GLP-1's mechanism (reduces appetite by slowing gastric emptying). If you need NSAIDs, space them 12+ hours from GLP-1 doses and prioritize GLP-1 benefits. Use acetaminophen (if safe for you) as alternative.

Conditional Cautions

Thyroid medication + supplements: If you're on levothyroxine, separate it from all supplements by 4+ hours. Many peptides don't interact, but separating avoids potential absorption conflicts.

Licorice root + peptide protocols: Licorice elevates cortisol, which can blunt growth hormone peptide effects. Skip licorice during GH-releasing peptide protocols.

Curcumin (high-dose): Excellent for inflammation but can thin blood slightly. If combining with peptides that improve blood flow (BPC-157, certain vasodilatory compounds), monitor for increased bruising. No need to stop, just be aware.

The MyProtocolStack Advantage

Record all supplements in your protocol notes when logging peptide doses. When you run blood work and upload results to MyProtocolStack, having complete stacking information lets you see whether your supplement combinations are optimizing results. For example:

Running BPC-157 + high zinc = faster recovery markers?
Running GLP-1 + omega-3 = better lipid panels?
Running GH peptides + creatine = greater IGF-1 elevation?

Logging supplements alongside peptides and blood work creates a complete system for identifying what actually works for your physiology.

Summary: Safe Stacking Rules

1. Separate injected peptides from oral supplements by 2+ hours

2. Never combine GHK-Cu with concurrent zinc

3. Avoid high-dose vitamin C within 3 hours of oral peptides

4. Keep iron and GI binders 4+ hours away

5. Log all supplements with peptide doses for pattern analysis

6. Run bloodwork quarterly to confirm stacks are optimizing (not interfering)

Supplementation without protocol tracking is guesswork. Stacks designed with blood work feedback are systematic and measurable.
